General Rules:

  1. First games start at 8AM or 9AM sharp.

  2. Games listed with a 10:30AM first game start time will begin immediately after the 8AM games complete. This means games could start before 10:30AM, so show up early to avoid forfeits. First game forfeit is 15 minutes and second game forfeit is 30 minutes after the scheduled start time.  For example, a 9AM start will have a 9:15AM first game forfeit time and 9:30AM second game forfeit time.  The paper schedules will have * for 8AM and ** 10:30AM starts.

  3. The Sunday morning men's league has a mercy rule of 12 runs in the spring and 10 runs in the fall after the 5th inning. This rule is also in effect during playoffs.

  4. No metal spikes allowed. A player found wearing metal spikes during must remove them before continuing.  Player will not be ejected from the game.

  5. Teams should have a minimum of 10 players to start a game. A game can start with 9 players, but the team must take an automatic out when the 10th player comes to bat.  The 10th batter may be added to the game at any time.

  6. Teams may bat a maximum of 14 players. The two extra batters are called EP's. As long as batting order doesn't change. The EP's can play any position on the field.

  7. Players must play at least 7 games to be eligible to play in play-offs

  8. We are using mats for the strike zone. The plate is not part of the strike zone.

  9. A runner on third base or first base may stand in foul territory while batter is hitting.  After the ball is hit the runner must first touch third base before advancing home.


Homeruns:

  1. There is a three homerun limit on any fenced field or noted by the umpire.  Every homerun after the allowed three is an out.

  2. Once both teams have reached the homerun limit above, that no team may be more than one homerun ahead of the other team.


Courtesy Runners:

  1. Teams get four courtesy runners per game. These runners are the last out.

  2. If you take a courtesy runner and that runner is due to bat, it is NOT an out. The umpire chooses a new runner, so the courtesy runner can bat. The umpire may choose any player in the game.

  3. Every two extra innings you receive one extra runner.


Ejections

  1. If a player is ejected from the game for any reason, it is a two game suspension.

  2. The game he or she is ejected from doesn't count towards the two game suspension. It is the next three games.

  3. Yelling, screaming or using foul language to an umpire or another player is a three game suspension.

  4. Throwing anything or spitting towards any umpire is a six game suspension.

  5. Hitting or touching an umpire is grounds for that player to be ejected from the league without a refund.


Bats

  1. All bats must be tested by LBSL and have a passed sticker applied by LBSL.  

  2. Bats will be tested at the beginning, middle, and before playoffs.

  3. If pitcher is hit and hurt and can’t return to the game. Bat is confiscated and tested.If bat is found illegal it’s a 6 game suspension.

  4. Refusal player will be banned from the league for the rest of the season.

  5. All bats must be ASA certified.

  6. All bats must be out of bat or any bags. If a player is caught pulling or putting a bat in a bat bag, He is ejected from the game, and the bat is banned from the game.

  7. Any player using a banned bat will be called out and ejected from the game.

  8. Any bat that makes any kind of noise inside the bat, will be called out but not ejected from the game.

  9. If a player is caught using that bat a second time, either in that game or another game he will be called out and ejected from the game.    

  10. Bats can have either original grip or only two layers of grip tape, but any more than that and the bat is a banned bat.


Protection:

  1. It's mandatory that all pitchers wear a mask when on the mound.

  2. Fielding masks are option for all other players except the pitcher.


Scorebook:

  1. Scorebooks must have first and last name of each player playing in the game. If your book doesn't have first and last names, and it is checked, your team will be ejected from the playoffs.

  2. All teams are subject to random scorebook checks.
